Eco/Enviro Girl asked: Okay so I’m an organic vegetarian and brought up an interesting idea at a meeting with friends over dinner today….
Some/most vegetarians are veggie because of the way animals are treated and how they are raised right? But then the vegetarians I know (except the exception of my best friend and I who eat organic) eat conventional veggies - which means it’s covered in pesticides… Still with me? Okay well pesticides get into the air, into the ground, hurt the animals on farms not to mention conventional food also has GMO’s (genetically modified organisms) Now - these obviously hurt not only the farm animals which vegetarians and vegan are protecting but also wildlife in general (and us when we ingest it all)! The animals we work so hard to protect are also fed GM and pesticide laden foods….
Now my question is this - if you are vegetarian or vegan why aren’t you eating organic foods that don’t pollute, destroy, and kill not only the environment but the same animals you are trying to protect?
Liz - I know it’s brutal - I own both films and lend it out all the time - The government has a big share in Monsanto and that’s why the company will always be around! The government makes too much of a profit to ever put peoples health first over Monsanto’s toxic elixers!
** I find that by using vinegar, baking soda, lemon juice etc for cleaning - I save, I eat no meat - I save, I walk to work - I save… sooo the money I save I buy organic - I offset the cost :~)

elle asked: I have been an ovo-lacto vegetarian for years, and would like to continue eating dairy products, but recently have been reading that organic and free-range dairy animals are most often treated just as awfully as animals not on organic and free-range farms. So, I am considering a vegan diet; I have a gluten-sensitivity, so I already have a somewhat limited choice for protein (as most veggie burgers and such contain wheat gluten). Any advice, good sources?

Amanda6 asked: I would like to take both lettuce and caterpillar out to the garden, but the lettuce, having no roots, would not support the caterpillar for long. Fortunately there was another lettuce from our organic delivery to go with our pizza tonight. Can it only eat lettuce or can it also eat other green plants or grass?

Toki*Doki asked: As stated, I eat fish sparingly (like 2 times per week) and I eat organic vegetarian fed cage free brown eggs. Am I considered a vegetarian?
Also, I don’t drink cowmilk but instead I drink nonfat soymilk. My doctor told me since I dont eat meat I should eat eggs and drink milk? Should I stick to the soymilk or drink cowmilk? I’m not into the whole cowmilk thing so I wanted to know if the soymilk would provide the necessary nutrients that I need from not eating meat.
Thanks!
Arnold

ulquiorra asked: Or like food doesn’t fill you up the same anymore? I became an organic vegan after eating meat all my life. Now I will eat until I am full but no matter how much I ate, an hour later I’m hungry again. My friend suggested that it was because my body is used to the heavy meat feeling so i was wondering if anyone else has had this experience.
